The Jews faith, trust, and illusion caused the Jews to fall under the German’s power. The
Jews had faith in god, trust in man, and illusion with in themselves. The Jews kept on reminding
themselves that “the Russians are going to save us.” The Germans deceived the Jews by reassuring them that they were on the same side. The Jews fell under the Germans power by three things the first is their faith in god.
The Jews faith was in god. In the beginning of the story Elie was was so happy and spiritual he went to sabbath every day. A man in the story was killed for trying to take an extra helping of food but the prisoner’s reasoned different when a very young child was hung in the gallos and all the prisoners were shocked and terrified this cruel murder. All the prisoners asked “where is god in all of this were” Elie found himself saying where is he?this is were hanging here from this gallows”. Elie lost his faith after witnessing that he no longer was scared he was lost and empty hanging on to what he had left of his dad at that moment. In the end of the story Elie’s faith began to vanquish.
